Order backlogs for aircraft have reached an all-time high. With the Boeing strike that started in September 2024, the problem is quickly going from bad to worse, at least for Boeing.

Using data from Flight Plan by Forecast International, I chart the chasm between airplanes ordered and airplanes delivered for the two major manufacturers. Airlines are getting anxious and impatient, and in some cases, have publicly stated their faltering faith in Boeing.
