Largest and oldest, youngest and smallest! In this infographic, I map the average age of all the major airlines' aircraft fleets against the size of their fleet. Surprisingly, some of the most established airlines have the oldest fleets. As an extra data point, I included the gold planes, which signify airlines who were voted World's Top 10 Airlines of 2022 by SkyTrax. While I normally would not choose to make the y-axis go from biggest to smallest upward, or the x-axis to move from larger to smaller, I felt in this case that the younger aircraft should be "flying higher" and so flipped the usual axes direction.
